WELD 1519 - SMAW III (Pipe Welds 2G-6G)
Credit Hours 9 , Lecture 1 , Lab 8
Introduces safe setup and principles of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) in the 2G vertical fixed position, 5G horizontal fixed position, and the 6G-45o fixed position. Students will review joint preparation, proper weld quality, and qualification testing. This course requires a lab fee.
Prerequisites: WELD 1318 with a grade of “C” or better
