The Associate of Applied Science in Computing and Information Systems provides students with the foundational knowledge necessary to meet entry-level employment needs of the regional labor market that includes Baton Rouge. Students gain knowledge, professional skills, and specialized hands-on technical training to position them for entry-level network security specialists.
To receive this degree, the student must:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 of higher in all credit hours to be used towards the degree.
- Earn a “C” or better in all courses in the program of study outline below.
- Complete the coursework listed below.
Program Outcomes. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:
- Apply written, oral, and graphical communication in both technical and non-technical environments
- Utilize critical thinking skills to collect, analyze, and interpret technical data collected through investigation and experimentation
- Evaluate the human role in security systems with an emphasis on ethics, social engineering vulnerabilities and training.
- Use appropriate security protocols to interpret and forensically investigate security incidents.
